Peggi Starkey

Feeling a little nostalgic right now. Remembering my past successes. Most of them are music, no surprise there. But I thought about the time when I moved from Moorhead to Edina MN. and was in the band. My former band director told me not to expect first chair, that I was accustomed to. However, it wasn’t long, and I was first chair. (Lesson learned: do not let negative talk stop you!) Another magical moment was when I auditioned for the MN All State Lutheran Choir. Surprisingly, I made it. And I remember the person who auditioned me said that I had potential. This was at the high school level. (Lesson learned: I was worthy! I had little faith in myself.). Then, another big dream of mine was to sing with the Concordia College Choir in Moorhead, MN. My Junior year, I made that! (Lesson learned: Go after your goals, believe in yourself!). My senior year, I did an hour recital, yes, all by myself. It wasn’t required of me, but what an experience that was too! Even the renown Choir Director I sang under came. That was truly an honor! (Lesson learned: Face your fears and do it anyway.). Now that I look back at these magnificent moments in my musical life, I realize that these were all placed in front of me for my highest good. They were aligning up for me to have experience under my belt, so I can better help singers be able to go onto the stage and perform with confidence and pride! If you are interested in learning lessons and following your dreams of performing on stage and really love singing for others, be on the watch out for my Musical Mindset Coaching Course! It is starting soon! I would love to help you face your fears, help you know that you too, are worthy. It is time to believe in yourself! Let’s work on these together.
