Understanding intervals doesn’t have to feel complicated. In this eight-to-nine-week course, we’ll take it one step at a time so you can learn to hear an interval, know what it is, and sing it with confidence.
We’ll focus on one interval at a time, working with seconds, thirds, fourths, fifths, sixths, and half steps. You’ll learn how to recognize each interval when you hear it, sing it using solfège, identify the letter names, and understand how to spell it correctly.
Each week, you’ll have a short musical exercise to learn and memorize. Once you’re comfortable with it, you’ll sing it for me, and I’ll give you personal feedback before we move on to the next lesson.
And we won’t forget what you’ve already learned! As we introduce each new interval, we’ll continue practicing the ones that came before it. This helps train your ear, strengthen your musical memory, and make recognizing and singing intervals feel more natural. We’ll also use short quizzes along the way so you can see how much you’re learning.
By the end of our time together, you won’t just know more about intervals. You’ll be better able to hear them, understand them, and sing them, giving you another tool to become a stronger, more confident musician and performer.
