Meet Peggi

Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. At three years old, I would sit at my grandfather’s piano, curious about the sounds I could create. That early love of music grew into a lifelong passion that has shaped so much of who I am.

I earned my Bachelor of Music Education and spent my school years immersed in band, choir, and orchestra. I was also selected to sing with the Minnesota State Lutheran Choir, performing throughout Minnesota and abroad in Scandinavia. After graduation, I taught private voice and piano lessons, and in 1981, I became a Sweet Adeline. More than 45 years later, barbershop singing remains an important part of my life, and today I sing with Shoreline Sound Chorus, Region 2.

For all of my musical education and experience, though, I eventually discovered that knowing the music wasn’t always enough.

I remember one performance when I made a mistake on every single song. I knew the notes. I knew the words. I had the experience. Yet something was getting in my way. That experience stayed with me because it made me realize there was more to becoming the performer I wanted to be than simply practicing harder or knowing my music better.

A major turning point came when I decided to work with a mentor who taught me an entirely different way of thinking. I began studying how our thoughts, beliefs, self-image, and energy influence the way we experience our lives. The more I learned, the more I changed. I became more confident, more aware of my own potential, and in many ways, a better version of myself.

Then I began asking an important question: If changing the way I think can change my life, what could it do for me as a performer?

The answer changed the way I approached music.

I began bringing together everything I had learned throughout my life: my musical education, decades of performing experience, vocal technique, mindset, self-image, energy work, and the Universal Laws. As I changed what was happening within me, I also changed the way I showed up in front of an audience. I learned to perform with greater confidence, freedom, and ease.

That journey ultimately led me to create Musical Mindset Coaching.

Today, I help singers discover how their thoughts, beliefs, and self-image can affect the way they sing and perform. Fear, self-doubt, limiting beliefs, a critical inner voice, and the way we see ourselves can all follow us onto the stage.

My work is about helping you move beyond those barriers while continuing to develop the singer and performer you want to become. Together, we work with vocal technique, mindset, self-image, and energy so you can recognize your strengths, trust yourself, and step into your performances differently.

Because I believe there is an Ideal Performer within you already.

My role is to help you bring that performer forward.
